Cambodian provincial governors and vice-governors will take office starting this Thursday after Prime Minister Hun Sen approved the list of candidates from the FUNCINPEC and the Cambodian People's Party (CPP).

Cambodia does not have new governors and vice-governors three months after the formation of the new government.

CPP officials said the delay was because FUNCINPEC was late in turning in the list of their candidates.
