노벨 문학상 메달

올해의 노벨 문학상은 영국 극작가 해롤드 핀터에게 돌아갔습니다.  스웨덴의 노벨 아카데미는 13일, 스톡홀름에서 이같이 발표했습니다.

스웨덴 아카데미는 13일 노벨상 수상자를 발표하면서 핀터는 사람들이 서로에게 자비를 베푸는 곳에서 예측할수 없는 대사와 공간으로 연극 본래의 요소를 되살린 작가라고 평가했습니다.

금년 75세로 런던에 살고 있는 핀터는 유태인 재단사의 아들로 태어났으며 “생일 파티 “ “케어테이커”등으로 영국에서 가장 저명한 극작가의 한 사람입니다. 핀터는 100만 달라 이상의 상금을 받게 됩니다.

British Playwright Harold Pinter has won this year's Nobel Prize for literature. The Swedish Academy announced the award today (Thursday) in Stockholm, Sweden.

Announcing the award in Stockholm today (Thursday), the Swedish Academy described Mr. Pinter as an author "who restored theater to its basic elements: an enclosed space and unpredictable dialogue, where people are at the mercy of each other."

The 75-year-old Londoner, son of a Jewish dressmaker, is one of Britain's best-known playwrights for works such as "The Birthday Party" and "The Caretaker." Mr. Pinter will receives more than one million dollars in prize money.
