중국이 25일 세 번째 유인 우주선 선저우 7호를 발사했습니다.

선저우 7호는 중국 최초의 우주유영을 포함해 68시간의 우주 임무 수행에 나섭니다.

선저우7호에 탑승한 중국 우주비행사 세 명 가운데 한 명은 40분 동안 우주유영에 나설 예정이며 우주 유영중에 특수 제작된 새 중국산 우주복도 시험합니다. 선저우 7호는 3백43 킬로미터 고도에서 지구 궤도를 돌게 됩니다.

중국의 후진타오 국가주석은 선저우 7호가 발사되기 전, 세 명 우주인을 만나 성공적인 임무완수를 기원했습니다.

China's third manned spacecraft has taken off on a 68-hour mission that will include the nation's first space walk.

Today's (Thursday's)launch of the Shenzhou Seven or "sacred vessel" was broadcast live on state-run television.

During the voyage, which is China's riskiest to date, one of the three crew members will carry out a 40-minute walk in space. A researcher with China's manned space engineering office says Saturday's spacewalk will be the riskiest part of the mission.

During that walk, the astronaut or "taikonaut" also will test a new Chinese-made spacesuit. Shenzhou Seven will orbit the Earth at an altitude of 343 kilometers.

Hours before the launch, Chinese President Hu Jintao met with the three taikonauts, wishing them success on their mission. Mr. Hu said the mission represents the lofty aspirations of China's Communist Party leaders as well as the people of China.
