Maureen Weston, a law professor at Pepperdine University in California who teaches U.S. and international sports law, offers her fascinating perspective on the NBA’s stiff punishment of Clippers owner Donald Sterling for his racist remarks.  As part of the disciplinary action, league commissioner Adam Silver has promised to urge the 29 other NBA owners to force Sterling to sell the Clippers.  But Weston says it’s unlikely that Sterling “will go down without a fight,” noting it’s possible that the Clippers’ owner will retaliate by suing the NBA and the other team owners.  Weston also says it is no “slam dunk” that the 29 other owners will all agree that Sterling must sell the Clippers, saying some could be fearful of setting a bad precedent
