6 Workers Kidnapped in Iraqi Capital

Authorities in Iraq say gunmen have kidnapped an American, an Asian and four Arabs from an office in western Baghdad.

Police at the scene in the affluent al-Mansour district said armed men barged into the offices of a Saudi trade and contracting company and clashed with guards before escaping with their captives. Police say one guard and one kidnapper were killed.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility, and no ransom demands have been made public.

Authorities say at least three of the Arab captives are believed to be Iraqi.

In September, militants kidnapped two Americans and a Briton from their home in the same neighborhood. All three were later beheaded.
