China says at least 15 people have been killed and one other is missing after an explosion at a coal mine in northern China.
Chinese state-run media report 48 people were working underground at the Shiyawan coal mine in Shanxi province early Friday when the natural gas explosion occurred. The remaining 32 miners escaped.
China's mines are among the world's most dangerous, with fires, explosions and floods killing miners almost daily.
Last month, about 140 miners were killed in a gas blast at a mine in Henan province.
