Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf has arrived in the Argentine capital, Buenos Aires, to begin the second leg of his trip, designed to improve trade and economic ties with Latin America.
General Musharraf is expected to hold talks Wednesday with Argentine President Nestor Kirchner.
The Pakistani leader traveled to Argentina from Brazil, where Tuesday, in the financial capital of Sao Paulo he held talks with business leaders. On Monday, he met with Brazilian President Luis Inacio Lula da Silva and signed four accords that included cooperation on battling hunger and drug trafficking.
General Musharraf is the first Pakistani leader to make a state visit to the region. He also is due to visit Mexico before stopping in the United States on his way back to Islamabad.
