The official Qatari news agency says two Russian agents convicted in Qatar of killing a Chechen rebel leader are to be returned to Russia.
The news agency says the men are to serve the rest of their life sentences in their home country. It says Russian officials had requested the transfer.
A Qatari court sentenced and convicted the agents for the car bombing in February that killed Chechen separatist leader Zelimkhan Yandarbiyev.
The court accused the Russian leadership of supporting the plot. Moscow had denied the men were involved in the killing and demanded their release.
Mr. Yandarbiyev had lived in exile in Qatar since 2000.
