Pakistan Seizes 1,700 Kilos of Morphine

Pakistan says its security forces have raided a house in southwestern Baluchistan province and seized nearly 1,700 kilograms of morphine, as well as weapons and ammunition.

Officials say the raid occurred late Monday in Chaghi, a town west of the provincial capital, Quetta, following a tip-off.

No suspects were present at the scene, and there were no arrests.

Also Monday, in the same province, three brothers from a poor shepherd's family died and their parents were injured when a box they found in a field exploded.

Local authorities say the accident happened in the remote town of Mastoong, south of Quetta. It was not clear who left the box of explosives in the field.
