Turkey's Hedo Turkoglu scored a season-high 29 points to help the Orlando Magic beat the defending champion Detroit Pistons 103-101 in National Baskeball Association action Wednesday.
In Houston, Yao Ming and Tracy McGrady combined for 49 points - but that was not enough to help the host Rockets, who dropped an 87-74 decision to the Indiana Pacers. Jamaal Tinsley and Jermaine O'Neal led the scoring for Indiana, with 28 and 27 points respectively.
Meanwhile, Dirk Nowitzki of the Dallas Mavericks scored 28 points to surpass 10,000 for his career - leading his team to a 137-120 win over the Washington Wizards. The Wizards have now dropped two consecutive games after winning seven straight.
