Apolo Anton Ohno of the United States won the men's 1,000 meter race at the short track speedskating World Cup in Spisska Nova Ves, Slovakia on Saturday.
Ohno captured the gold medal in 1:32.362 minutes, less than 0.6 seconds ahead of South Korea's Hyun-Soo Ahn. Canada's Steve Robillard was third, more than 10 seconds back.
Hyun-Soo Ahn turned the tables in the 3,000 meter event, barely edging the American in five minutes and 15.453 seconds. Ohno was second, just 0.012 seconds behind, while Robillard was once again third (5:15.731).
Sun-Yu Jin of South Korea captured the women's 1,000 meters in 1:30.714 seconds, edging countrywoman Soo-Yeon Yeo by less than 0.1 second. China's Yang Yang was third (1:30.874).
Yeo won the women's 3,000 meters in 5:18.537 minutes, with Jin taking second place almost eight seconds behind. Bulgaria's Evgenia Radanova was third (5:27.470).
