US Pledges $1.6 Million for OAS Counter-Terrorism Efforts


The United States has pledged $1.6 million to strengthen and expand counter-terrorism coordination in the Western hemisphere.

A top official with the US Department of Homeland Security announced the pledge at an Organization of American States (OAS) meeting in Trinidad and Tobago.

During the three-day conference, which began Wednesday, officials from the Americas are discussing such issues as border controls, transportation security, terrorist financing and strengthening cybersecurity systems.
