South African golfer Ernie Els has won his second straight tournament in the Middle East, taking the Qatar Masters in Doha by one shot.
Ranked third in the world behind American Tiger Woods and Vijay Singh of Fiji, Els carded a seven under-par 65 in the final round Sunday. His four-day total of 12 under-par 276 edged Henrik Stenson of Sweden by one shot. Richard Green of Australia and Pierre Fulke of Sweden tied for third at nine under-par 279.
Els finished the opening round Thursday with a share of 81st place. But he steadily moved up the leaderboard to get within striking distance. Els collected seven birdies Sunday to erase a five-shot deficit. He also won the Dubai Desert Classic last week.
