UN Crime Conference Opens in Bangkok

Some 3,000 delegates from around the world gathered in Bangkok Monday to devise ways to combat drug trafficking, corruption, trans-national crime and terrorism.

The eight-day United Nations conference opening today in Thailand's capital brings together senior government officials, members of the private sector and experts on crime.

Topics to be discussed at the eleventh annual U.N. Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice range from human trafficking to environment crimes, bribery of government authorities and computer-spawned crimes.
