32 Dead, Over 100 Missing in Bangladesh Ferry Mishap

Divers recovered 30 more bodies Thursday from the Bangladesh ferry that sank two days ago during a storm, bringing the confirmed death toll to 32.

Police say about 50 people survived the ordeal, but that as many as 150 are still missing and feared drowned. Fierce currents, strong winds and darkness forced rescuers to postpone a further search until Friday.

Hundreds of anxious people camped near the site of the accident waiting for news about missing relatives. Others hired small boats to scour the river themselves.

The ferry sank three days after another overcrowded ferry sank in bad weather in southern Bangladesh, killing at least 60 people. More than 40 people are still missing.
