Israel says Palestinian rocket fire from the Gaza Strip has killed a woman inside Israel.
Israeli military sources say four makeshift rockets hit a village near Gaza, Thursday. The attack came hours after Israeli soldiers shot and killed a wanted Palestinian militant in the northern West Bank.
The militant al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades said the Gaza rocket fire was retaliation for the Israeli killing.
On Wednesday, Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon ordered security forces to resume targeting Islamic Jihad leaders for assassination. An Israeli statement says the suspect was killed while trying to escape the house of a British national after refusing to surrender.
The hunt-and-kill order - suspended as part of a February truce - was reinstated after an Islamic Jihad suicide bomber killed himself and five Israelis Tuesday in the Israeli city of Netanya.
