Pakistani authorities have arrested a Shi'ite Muslim man suspected of involvement in the murder of a senior pro-Taleban Sunni Muslim cleric in Karachi last year.
Local police say the suspect, identified as Nafees Khan, was nabbed in an overnight raid on a house in the city's eastern district. They say he is one of six gunmen wanted in connection with the killing.
Mufti Nizamuddin Shamzai, who had called for a "jihad" or holy war against the United States, was shot dead in May 2004 as he drove to an Islamic school. His killing sparked violence by thousands of his supporters in Karachi.
