British Police Arrest Five Over Security Concerns

The British Home Office says police detained five foreign nationals early Monday for national security concerns.

The office says the five will be held pending deportation. It has not confirmed where they were arrested or their identities.

The arrests are the latest since September 15, when British police detained seven foreign nationals during raids in London and the northern city of Manchester.

Britain has tightened security and passed new anti-terrorism laws following the July attacks on the London transit system that killed 52 people.
