ABC: Filipino Spy Worked in White House

update

A Philippine-born former U.S. Marine is reported to have engaged in espionage at the White House over several years, and used his position to steal documents from the office of Vice President Dick Cheney.

ABC News -- in an investigative report Wednesday -- said 46-year-old Leandro Aragoncillo worked for nearly three years before leaving to work for the FBI. He was arrested last month and accused of downloading classified documents from FBI computers.

The report cites investigators saying Mr. Aragoncillo stole files on the president of the Philippines, and passed the information on to opposition politicians.

Asked about the report, a White House spokesman said it is an ongoing investigation and that all questions about it should be directed to the FBI.

ABC said the alleged spy worked in the offices of Vice President Dick Cheney and former Vice President Al Gore, who held the office before Mr. Cheney.
