Astros, Cardinals Face Off in Game 6 of MLB National League Playoffs

update

The Houston Astros have another chance to advance to Major League Baseball's World Series when they visit the Saint Louis Cardinals for Game Six of the National League Championship Series at Busch Stadium Wednesday night.

The Astros were just one strike away from clinching a spot in the Series Monday night. But Albert Pujols hit a three-run ninth-inning homer off Houston closer Brad Lidge to rally the Cardinals to a 5-4 win. The Astros still lead the best-of-seven series 3-2, while Saint Louis is trying to become just the third team to overcome a 3-1 deficit in the NLCS.

Right-hander Roy Oswalt will try to seal the Astros' first-ever World Series appearance, while Saint Louis lefty Mark Mulder will try to force a decisive Game Seven. If a seventh game is needed, the Astros will send Roger Clemens to the mound to face the Cardinals' Matt Morris on Thursday night.

The eventual winner will face the American League champion Chicago White Sox in the World Series. The Fall Classic gets underway in Chicago on Saturday.
