Three National Football League contests Sunday ended with fan-pleasing overtime outcomes, with the San Diego Chargers, St. Louis Rams and Seattle Seahawks posting victories.
San Diego's LaDainian Tomlinson ran for his third touchdown of the game as the Chargers rallied to beat the Washington Redskins, 23-17. San Diego erased a 10-point deficit in the fourth quarter to tie the score before Tomlinson's game-winning 41-yard TD scamper in the extra session. It is the second week in a row Washington has lost to a team led by a former head coach of the Redskins.
St. Louis Rams rookie quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick threw the winning score to Kevin Curtis to cap a 21-point comeback and claim a 33-27 overtime victory over the Houston Texans. And in OT in Seattle, the Seahawks held off the New York Giants with a 36-yard field goal, 24-21 for a seventh straight win.
In late action, the New Orleans Saints snapped a six-game losing streak, edging the New York Jets 21-19. Aaron Brooks threw three touchdown passes to lead the Saints in New York.
