College Football: Kansas Crushes Houston


In U.S. college football, Kansas crushed Houston 42-13 in the Fort Worth Bowl in Texas Friday.

Quarterback Jason Swanson threw for 307 yards and four touchdowns to lead the Jayhawks to their first bowl victory and first winning season in 10 years. Kansas wrapped up the season with a record of 7-5. The last time the Jayhawks had a winning season was 1995 when they went 10-2, capping the year with a victory in Hawaii's Aloha Bowl.

Houston quarterback Kevin Kolb threw three interceptions, but managed to score the Cougars' only touchdown on a one-yard run in the second quarter.

Kansas held Houston to a season-worst 244 yards, while the Jayhawks amassed 538 yards.
