British Police Charge Another Suspect in Failed London Bombings

British authorities have charged a 27-year-old man in connection with the failed July 21 bombings in the London transit system.

Officials say Muhedin Ali faces charges of helping one of the suspected attackers (Hussein Osman) evade arrest during the days after the attempted bombings. Ali is scheduled to appear in London's Bow Street Magistrates Court Saturday.

Terrorists tried to set off bombs on three London subway trains and a bus, but the devices failed to explode.

Ali is the latest of 17 persons charged in the case. Five of them are to go on trial in September.

The failed attacks came two weeks after four bombers set off explosives on London subway trains and a bus, killing themselves and 52 others.
