French President Jacques Chirac wrapped up his visit to Thailand with an agreement to try to increase trade between the nations.
Mr. Chirac met with with Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra Saturday for talks on a range of issues, including increasing French business investments in Thailand.
The French president was traveling with a large delegation that included business leaders and the French ministers of foreign affairs, defense, economy, tourism and trade.
Mr. Chirac arrived Friday in Bangkok where he and his wife, Bernadette, were greeted by Thai King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Queen Sirikit.
Mr. Chirac's tour of the southeast Asian nation is the first official visit to Thailand by a French president.
