Former Jamaican Trade Envoy Peter King was found murdered in his apartment in the capital, Kingston, Monday.
King's body was discovered after a caretaker got no response from King when he called several times. Police say he was stabbed, his throat was slit and his body was wrapped in a plastic sheet. No arrests have been made.
Colleagues say King was an expert on the textiles and apparel industry, but also lent his negotiating skills to other areas, including agriculture, tourism and manufacturing. They said King worked hard to get foreign investors to set up shop in Jamaica.
At the time of his death, King was a vice president of the Jamaica Manufacturers Association and a director of the Jamaica Exporters Association. Some information for this report was provided by AP.
