Indian police say at least 19 people were killed and 26 injured when their bus plunged into a dry riverbed in northern India.
Authorities say the driver lost control of the bus and it veered off a bridge near Rampur in Uttar Pradesh state early Wednesday. The bus was headed to Haldwani in neighboring Uttaranchal state.
Some passengers suffered serious injuries.
Bus crashes occur frequently in India, where highway conditions are poor and driving is erratic. On Tuesday, 30 people were killed when their overcrowded bus plunged off a bridge near Bombay.
