Ethiopian riot police and Muslim protesters angry about the demolition of a partially built mosque have clashed in Addis Ababa.
A police spokesman said Muslim youths on Friday began throwing stones at officers, who responded with rubber bullets and tear gas.
Several people were reported injured, but there is no information about the extent of their injuries.
Several other people were detained by police.
Officials say the mosque was being torn down because it and some houses were illegally built on city administration-owned land in the Merkato district.
