Ethiopia is appealing for international help after flooding across the country this month killed more than 600 people.
The regional administrator in southern Ethiopia Shesaraw Shegute said the magnitude of the disaster is not something the country can handle on its own.
Police say the death toll in the south is now up to 364, while at least another 254 people have died in flooding in the east of the country, near the city of Dire Dawa.
Bad whether in the south is continuing to hamper rescue efforts there, three days after the Omo River flooded. Most roads are not passable and helicopters are having difficulty landing. Ten thousand people are still believed to be stranded.
Meanwhile, the government is warning of the possibility of more floods throughout the country. Officials fear Ethiopia's largest river, the Awash, could be the next to overflow its banks.
Authorities say hundreds of people still remain missing from the floods in both the south and east of the country, and expect the death toll to continue to rise.
Flash floods often sweep through Ethiopia's lowland areas during the country's June-to-August rainy season.
