Car Bomb in Colombia Kills 1, Wounds 8

Colombian authorities say a taxi loaded with explosives has killed the driver and wounded eight others outside a police station in the port city of Buenaventura.

Colonel Jaime Gutierrez blamed Friday morning's incident on the rebel Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia. The group has waged an armed insurgency against the government since 1964.

So far, no one has claimed responsibility for the attack. Police have made no arrests.

A car bomb erupted earlier this month outside a police station in Cali, killing four police officers and the car's driver.

Authorities also blamed that attack on leftist rebels.
