Iran Test-Fires Missile During Military Exercises

Iran says it has test-fired a long-range, radar-evading missile in the Persian Gulf as part of a military exercise that began more than a week ago.

Navy commander General Sajjad Kouchaki told state-run television Sunday the missile was fired from a submarine and successfully hit its target on the surface.

The military exercises in Iran began August 19th. The Islamic Republic held other war games earlier this year.

Iranian officials said the missile was designed and built in Iran.
