Heavy Rain Causes St. Louis Cardinals, New York Mets Game to Be Postponed

update

Game-Five of Major League Baseball's National League Championship Series has been re-scheduled for later Tuesday after heavy rain in St. Louis forced Monday's game to be postponed.

The St. Louis Cardinals will now host the game against the New York Mets Tuesday night at Busch Stadium. The best-of-seven series is tied at two games each.

Jeff Weaver will be the starting pitcher for the host Cardinals, while the Mets will respond with veteran starter Tom Glavine.

The two teams will travel to New York as scheduled for Game-Six at Shea Stadium on Wednesday.

The winner of the National League series will face the American League champion Detroit Tigers for the World Series title, beginning Saturday in Detroit.
