Three Soldiers Killed in Indian Kashmir Army Camp

update

Indian army officials say a soldier has shot dead three colleagues and wounded three others in Indian-controlled Kashmir.

Military officials say the soldier opened fire on his colleagues following an argument late Friday at an army camp in the Rajouri district.

Officials say the soldier was critically wounded when he later tried to shoot himself.

Elsewhere in Kashmir, Indian security forces killed two suspected Islamic militants in a gun battle near the summer capital of Indian Kashmir, Srinagar.

Security forces also shot and killed at least two militants in separate battles.

Since 1989, Indian forces have been battling nearly a dozen Muslim rebel groups fighting for an independent Kashmir, or its merger with neighboring Pakistan. Tens of thousands of people have been killed.
