Bush Speaks in Missouri Days Ahead of Elections

President Bush has made a campaign appearance in Missouri where surveys indicate that, just days before elections, the Senate race remains too close to call.

The president spoke Friday to a group of Republican supporters on behalf of incumbent Senator James Talent. Talent's Democratic challenger is State Auditor Claire McCaskill. Latest polls indicate the race is among the closest in the nation.

The president Friday lashed out at Democrats and their attacks on his policies in Iraq, saying they have no plan of their own.

Public opinion polls indicate the war in Iraq could be a decisive factor in Tuesday's elections.

Democrats are hoping to take control of one or both houses of Congress. But President Bush says he's confident that Republicans will hold on to both houses.

On Thursday, a New York Times - CBS News poll was released, indicating a majority of voters plan to support Democrats in Tuesday's elections.
