German Forced Labor Compensation Program to Close at Year's End

update

The International Organization for Migration is preparing to make its final payments to victims of forced labor under Hitler's Nazi regime in World War II.

The Geneva-based organization said Tuesday it will stop issuing compensation payments at the end of the year, when the program ends.

The German Forced Labor Compensation Program was established in 2000 and co-funded by the German government and German industry.

Payments from its $1.25 billion fund were issued to more than 119,000 victims of forced labor and their survivors.
