NBA: Knicks, Nuggets Win Games Despite Suspensions

update

The two National Basketball Association teams involved in a brawl Saturday won games Monday, despite having star players on suspension.

Stephon Marbury scored on a layup at the buzzer in overtime to give the New York Knicks a 97-96 win over the visiting Utah Jazz.

The Knicks had only eight players in uniform because of suspensions and injuries resulting from Saturday's on-court fight with the Denver Nuggets.

Denver beat the visiting Washington Wizards, 117-108, despite playing without suspended stars Carmelo Anthony and J.R. Smith.

The Memphis Grizzlies snapped a six-game losing streak with a double-overtime, 134-126 win over the Seattle SuperSonics.

Miami's Dwayne Wade hit a fadeaway shot with 1.3 seconds left to rally the defending champion Heat to a 101-99 win over the New Orleans Hornets.

Elsewhere in the NBA Monday, the New Jersey Nets beat the Golden State Warriors, 105-97, and the Dallas Mavericks eased by the Sacramento Kings, 109-91.
