French Runner Arrested For Dope Possession

update

French 1,500 meter record holder Hind Dehiba has been arrested at a Paris airport after customs officials discovered doping substances in her luggage.

Judicial sources say Dehiba, 27 was arrested at Charles de Gaulle airport Monday with her husband and another athlete. They were returning from a training session in the United States.

The officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity because the investigation is ongoing, say Dehiba was carrying vials of human growth hormone. A prosecutor will decide in the next two days whether to charge them in the case.

Dehiba's case is the latest incident involving French middle distance runners. Latifa Essarokh and Nordine Gezzar were suspended for two years after testing positive for banned substances in 2006.
