Football's world governing body FIFA says Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Peru and Switzerland are all bidding to host the 2011 women's World Cup.
All six countries met the March 1 deadline to formally declare their interest in hosting the sixth edition of the tournament.
The countries will soon receive a list of requirements for the quadrennial event and will need to submit their definitive bids to FIFA by August 1. FIFA will select the host country on August 31.
China will host the next women's World Cup later this year, from September 10 - 30. Germany is the defending champion and ranked number-one in the world. The Olympic champion United States is ranked second.
