The Mwana Africa Soccer Club of Zimbabwe has made a mark in the country's sports history books by defeating Etoile Filante of Burkina Faso 3-0 the past weekend and thereby securing a berth in the CAF Confederation Cup mini-league.
Mwana Africa has won more than prestige, however – from this point on it stands to gain financially each time it plays a match in the tournament.
Sports commentator Michael Kariati observed in an interview with reporter Marvellous Mhlanga-Nyahuye of VOA's Studio 7 for Zimbabwe that Mwana Africa's victory was all the sweeter because the team rebounded from a first leg defeat in Ougadougou.
