NBA Playoffs: Pistons Sweep Magic


The Detroit Pistons are the first team to advance to this season's National Basketball Association playoff quarterfinals, after sweeping the Orlando Magic.

The Pistons rallied to beat the Magic 97-93 Saturday to win the best-of-seven first-round series, four games to none.

Detroit trailed by five points with about three minutes remaining before taking control of the game.

In another Eastern Conference matchup, Cleveland's LeBron James scored 30 points to lead the Cavaliers to a 98-92 win over the Washington Wizards. The Cavaliers can sweep the series with a victory Monday in Washington.

In the West, the San Antonio Spurs hold a two-games-to-one lead over Denver after beating the Nuggets, 96-91. Tim Duncan led the Spurs with 20 points and 13 rebounds. Game four will take place Monday in Denver.

The Utah Jazz beat the visiting Houston Rockets, 98-85, to even their series at two wins each. Game five is Monday in Houston.

The Chicago Bulls can advance to the quarterfinals Sunday with a win over the defending champion Heat in Miami, completing a sweep.

The Phoenix Suns, New Jersey Nets and Golden State Warriors look to take three-games-to-one leads in their series.

The Suns visit the Los Angeles Lakers, the Nets host the Toronto Raptors, and the Warriors host the Dallas Mavericks.
