Rainy Season Expected To Worsen Zimbabwe Cholera Epidemic

International aid agencies warn the onset of the rainy season could bring more cholera deaths if the epidemic is not rapidly contained. They urge a massive scale-up of operations to get on top of the disease.

With the cholera death toll closing in on 1 000, the lower house of parliament today was considering a motion voicing concern about the epidemic – debate was still in progress as Studio Seven went to air.

We spoke with Nkayi South House member Abednico Bhebhe of the Movement for Democratic Change formation led by Arthur Mutambara who said many lawmakers think the epidemic is under-reported
