Unidentified gunmen killed a Somali member of parliament Wednesday in a drive-by shooting in Somalia's capital.
Officials say Abdulahi Isse Abtidon was standing in a street in northern Mogadishu when he was gunned down.
He is the third lawmaker to have been attacked in the city since the new parliament relocated to Mogadishu last month.
Another member of parliament, Amir Mohamed Jaketi, was seriously wounded in an attack by gunmen on April 1. In late March, a roadside bomb blast wounded Interior Minister Abdulkadir Ali Omar. He suffered only minor injuries.
Hardline Islamist groups in Somalia have vowed to continue fighting the government, which is led by moderate Islamist, President Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed. Some information for this report was provided by AFP and AP.
