Zimbabwe's Black and Partner Huber Advance To US Open Doubles Semis

Zimbabwean tennis ace Cara Black and her American partner Liezel Huber moved to the semi-finals in the U.S. Open tournament after defeating Nuria Liagostera Vives and Maria Jose Martinez Sanchez of Spain at Flushing Meadows, New York City, on Wednesday.

Black and Huber, seeded number one in women’s doubles, now face number three seeds Samatha Stosur and Rennae Stubbs of Australia.

If they make it to the finals they will face American sisters Serena and Venus Williams, who won the event in 1999.

Zimbabwean tennis coach Claudio Murape told reporter Marvellous Mhlanga-Nyahuye that Black and Huber are at the top of their game and inspiring youngsters.
