The U.S. led campaign against Taleban military targets and the Al-Qaeda terrorist network headed by Osama bin Laden is now in its third week. The coalition, according to U.S. Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld, wants to destroy Taleban and Al Qaeda forces. In recent days, the coalition has been increasing air attacks in northern Afghanistan.
VOA National Affairs Correspondent Jim Malone spoke with Secretary Rumsfeld on Tuesday in a wide-ranging interview for this special Dateline report.
