Lennox Lewis: Tyson 'Needs Help' - 2002-01-30

World heavyweight boxing champion Lennox Lewis says there is a chance he might not fight Mike Tyson now that state of Nevada has refused to give the challenger a boxing license.

Lewis has told a London news conference he has not decided whether to fight Tyson in another jurisdiction.

The heavyweight champion from Britain says he is concerned for his safety after Tyson bit him in a melee at a New York news conference last week. "This guy just took a chunk out of my leg, so you know, I am thinking, who is going to protect me in the ring, who is going to guarantee that Mike Tyson does not bite me in the ring. You know, if the guy has some mental sickness, he needs help," Lewis told reporters.

The Lewis-Tyson bout had been planned for April 6 in Las Vegas, but now there is no indication of when, where or if they will fight.
