Professor Michael Smith of the University of Virginia says human rights should be a top priority in governing, and everyone should know what human rights are. However, he says that is not the case.
Professor Smith teaches political and social thought, as well as government and foreign affairs at the University. From Washington, English to Africa reporter Cole Mallard spoke with the Professor at his home in Charlottesville about the overall concept of human rights and especially, human rights in Africa.
