Rhythm and Blues star R. Kelly has been arrested in the southeastern state of Florida - just hours after he was indicted for child pornography.
Officials at the Polk County sheriff's office said Kelly will appear in court this afternoon Thursday for a hearing. Florida authorities say they do not know when Kelly will be returned to Chicago, where the charges were filed.
In a statement released by his attorney, Kelly says he is confident that when the facts come out, people will see that he is not a criminal.
A grand jury in the midwestern state of Illinois indicted Kelly on 21 counts of child pornography.
Court officials say the Grammy award-winning singer was implicated by a videotape sent to the Chicago Sun-Times newspaper that allegedly shows him having sex with a 14-year-old girl. R. Kelly denies he is the man in the video.
