Nigeria's Ondo State, Politics and campaign issues - 2002-10-04

As we continue our reports on the political climate in the various regions of Nigeria, English to Africa reporter Paul Okolo reports from the Ondo state capital, Akure. Paul is focusing on the significance of the State to the politics of Nigeria. He’s also sampling the thoughts of voters and politicians on campaign issues, the economy and voting security ahead of crucial local and general elections. Paul told English to Africa reporter Josephine Kamara that ethnicity plays a very important role in determining who wins an election in the State. He also says the State’s resources if used properly by politicians could influence the outcome of an election.
