The king of Bahrain, Sheikh Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, is urging Iraq to comply with all United Nations resolutions demanding its disarmament in order to avert a U.S. attack.
The king told visiting Iraqi Foreign Minister Naji Sabri Saturday that he supports Baghdad's decision to allow U.N. weapons inspectors to return. He said Iraq's compliance with the U.N. resolutions is the best way to ease tensions in the region and protect Iraq's security and territorial integrity.
Mr. Sabri, who is on a tour of Gulf states seeking diplomatic support for Baghdad, handed the king a letter from Iraqi President Saddam Hussein.
