The World Health Organization, W-H-O, says it is racing against time to prevent thousands of children from going blind. Health officials' report every minute; one child goes blind somewhere in the world. The W-H-O is launching a project to save the sight of over two hundred and fifty thousand children every year. Dr. Gopal Pokhartl is the medical officer in the W-H-O's department of prevention and control of blindness and deafness. He says efforts will be made assist the over one and half million children currently living with blindness. English to Africa reporter chinedu offor asked Dr Pokhartl how long the project would last.
