Thursday the bottom half of one of the eight Zimbabwe birds will be handed over to President Mugabe by Germany's Ambassador Dr. Peter Schmidt. Since the bottom half of the bird was taken by missionaries over 100 years ago it has been on exhibit in Berlin, Germany.
The birds are considered national treasures and artifacts. The Zimbabwe bird appears on the flag and is the national emblem.
